Petra

A place that I would like to visit is Petra City, a city that was sculpting in stone, in Jordanian. I would to visit Petra because I think that this city have a beautiful architecture, landscape and a very interesting culture. The Arabic culture in general I think that is very attractive.
But I wouldn’t like live there because I think that is complicate to find a work like a journalist in this place, and the culture is very different from ours. But maybe with the time, I will change my opinion… perhaps after to visit Petra.
I would like to go at Petra City with my mom, because my friends don’t like this city like a touristic destiny (I ask them u.u), with then I prefer to go at occidental cities. My mom showed me this city in the map many years ago, so I think that she is the perfect company in this travel.
I’m not saving money to go there, but I really think that I need start to saving money because I want to visit Petra very soon. Also I need to learn English language to able to communicate, because in Jordanian speaks Arabic, but a little of English too.
Can you help me with the ticket? =)

rock!

When I’m sad I always listen to groups of rock music to cheer me up. I prefer the classic bands of 70’s years, for example Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Men at Work, Bee Gees, and even Morrissey. Maybe you think that these groups are not very happy, but they really can take me away the sadness. I don’t know why, but it works.
But the group that cheer me up more is Red Hot Chili Peppers, because I love this band! And if I can see their videos it’s better to me.  Red Hot is a band with a big power, with lyrics that speaks about many topics, so you can find songs that represent many stages of your live.
I did know this band when I was nine or ten years, and they are an inspiration to me, when I started to learn electric bass, Flea (the bassist) was very important in my learning. Other musicians of this band that I admire are John Frusciante (ex guitar) and the vocalist Anthony Kiedis.
I really want to that Red Hot Chili Peppers come back to Chile... that would make me feel very happy. When they came at Chile the last time was on 2003, I couldn't go to see them because I was very young. Now I can, but they don't come back. Anyway I'll be waiting for them.

"El País"

A website that I enjoy visiting is the electronic diary “El País”, an international diary from Spain. This is a diary very interesting because it has sections that speaks about politics, culture, sports, economy and technology.
“El País” is propriety of PRISA Group, a consortium owns of many media companies. The diary says be pluralist but has an ideology politic of left-center trend. In this diary the most importantly is the information processing, more than the photography content.
I read this website since my first year of my career, and it has been very useful. Twice a week I read “El País” on the afternoon because I consider this website like an important material for me because I study Journalism and I need to be informed about the news of Chile and the world.
My favorite section is “Culture”, because in this section you can find news about Music and Films, that it has interview, summary of new movies or musical groups. Also it has a curious section called “Babelia” with opinion columns about literature, theater, and art exhibitions.

Something about me =)

Hi, my name is Scarlett O, I’m twenty-one years old. I live in Quilicura, with my parents, my two siblings, my niece and with Fofo, my dog.
I am in fourth grade of Journalism at University of Chile, a career that I like because it’s not only about to give information, also it presents the possibility to make visible hidden problems.
On the other hand I love the music, I play the electric bass since fifteen, but now I haven’t much time to play.
